Professional Class A truck drivers provide an essential service to America by transporting finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants, retail stores and distribution centers. Class A truck drivers are also responsible for inspecting their vehicles for mechanical items or issues relating to the safe operation of the truck.

While other employment sectors are struggling to find their way out of recession and job losses, the transportation industry seems to be going full throttle. According to the Commercial Carrier Journal "The for-hire trucking industry continued to add jobs in July even as the overall U.S. economy lost (them) ... since the beginning of March, trucking companies have added 13,000 jobs" Class A CDL truck drivers are in high demand as trucking companies expand the amount of drivers in their employ. New DOT rules on driver hours have trucking companies hiring extra drivers to cover their truck routes.

To most trucking companies, the trucking industry is a numbers game. Most trucking companies rely on gimmicks to lure truck drivers in to drive for them. They have new truck drivers coming in every week, and hopefully they can get three to six months work out of a CDL driver, and one or two drivers may stay long term.
